Sportshall Athletics County Finals
I cannot begin to tell you how proud I was of the 24 children that took part in the Sportshall Athletics county finals on Monday 29th January at UWE. Having qualified by finishing as runners up overall in the South Glos competition, our children competed against the best 12 teams from Bristol, South Glos, BANES and North Somerset. This was the first time our school has qualified for the county finals in this event. Every running race was attacked with determination and speed, every field event was given absolutely everything. Each and every child did their best to make a complete squad performance on the day. We managed several overall first places in both the running and field events and were competative in every single event.
Overall, the team finished 3rd and were bronze medallists!!!! This is such an achievement and each and every child quite rightly wore their medal with pride all afternoon upon their return to school. We cannot wait for the summer season now!
