Governors
The Governance of Mangotsfield Church of England Primary School
Our school is governed by the Leaf Trust which meets up to six times a year. Locally, we have a Local Governing Forum made up of parents, school staff, Diocesan and co-opted representatives each serving a four-year term. The forum acts as a ‘critical friend’ to the school. All governors at Mangotsfield CE Primary School take a great interest in the school. They work in partnership with our talented and dedicated staff team to deliver the best possible educational experience for our learners.
Our Local Governing Forum (LGF) is made of up to 8 Governors appointed through different routes as follows:
2 Parent Governors – elected by parents and carers of learners at the school
2 Foundation Governors – appointed by the Foundation, that is the Bristol Diocese of the Church of England
1 Staff Governor – elected by school staff
3 Co-opted Governors – appointed by the LGF
The Headteacher attends all meetings and the school also employs a Clerk to the Governors to run the administration of the LGF and oversee legal compliance.
The LGF conducts its business through six yearly full meetings. Governors also have link roles such as safeguarding, SEND and school ethos.
Minutes of each LGF meeting are approved and signed by the Chair at the following meeting. Once approved, they are posted here. A paper copy is stored in the school office, available for any member of the school community to view.
Governor positions become vacant at various times through the school year. If you are interested in becoming a Governor of the school, please get in touch with the current Chair of Governors through the school office.
